Southwell Racecourse Equine Surfacing Transformation

Southwell Racecourse, known for its top-tier events and commitment to equine welfare, recently faced a challenge with its aging rubber tile pathways, parade ring, and winner’s enclosure. Years of use and occasional flooding had left these surfaces uneven and damaged, raising concerns for safety and performance. Our team at Soft Top Surfacing was entrusted with the task of revamping these critical areas. Ensuring the venue’s standards of comfort, stability, and reliability for its four-legged athletes.

The project began with the careful removal of the worn rubber tiles. This step was meticulously managed to minimise disruptions to racecourse activities, allowing us to assess and thoroughly prepare the underlying sub-base. With the groundwork complete, we applied our durable wet pour rubber flooring. This was selected specifically for its smoothness, stability, and resilience under high-impact conditions. This rubber mulch guarantees a consistent surface, crucial for racehorse health and performance.

Today, Southwell Racecourse features revitalised pathways, parade rings, and winner’s enclosures that embody the highest standards of safety and quality. Our specialised equine surfacing provides a secure, comfortable footing, allowing each racehorse to perform at its peak. From preparation to celebration, this project demonstrates our commitment to exceptional surfacing solutions that support athletes. Whether they stand on two legs or four!
